To be honest. I really like the crib that I did with Helena, I got a lot of new ideas from it which is actually good thing. However, at the same time, my original plan got messed up as Helena mentioned to incorporate some elements of the city into the content if my book. This is totally different from what I wanted my book to be. So I decided to try out Helena's idea and added city images into my book. However, I got so frustrated when I comes to pulling together images of the city, and the Nunnery. I have no idea where to place the images and the typesetting. I really like the idea of my typesetting of the book, therefore, I decided to leave it this way. So, the conclusion is that I decided to give up incorporating city images into the book. The idea of making the book into a physical city escape would be carried on.
As for the binding of the book, I decided to try out living hinge tomorrow at the laser cut workshop. If it works, it will be the final cover of my book. However, if it doesn't. I will use a simple hard cover to replace it, or maybe sticking thin wooden boards onto the front and the back. As for the binding method, lay flat binding with no stitching process involved would be used.
Another idea is to simply hold the pages together with a rubber band. This aligns with the idea of not having a sewing process for the binding. Also, it give audiences a feeling of reading something quick and easy, which is exactly what a 'quick city escape' should be like. So the final product would be a thin zine with around 25-30 pages, showing some dreamy edits of images of the Nunnery.
