[COLLAB1] EXPERIMENTS

MOVEMENTS
Taking the idea of the movement of a train, it is like going in an opposite direction against the scenery outside the window. This idea is taking forward to creating an image making use of the scanner and a picture. As the scanning light goes to the left, the picture is being slid to the right in a parallel movement to imply the relationship in movement of a train and the surrounding environment. It created an interesting outcome.

The image is distorted and looks like it is compressed vertically. This outcome can reflect the idea of elapse. The scenery looking from inside the train elapses quickly with a few seconds and this is like the idea of nostalgia, flashing back at past moments and memories.

DOUBLE EXPOSURE
I played around with the idea of double exposure. It is to mimic the idea train windows reflections. of I tried to overlay two images onto black and white artboards. They are images of a landscape picture taken when I was having a ride on the highway, and an image of a train window taken when I was in Sheffield. I overplayed them with 50% opacity each to make them transparent and create the double exposure effect on film photography. The results are really interesting. The one with white background has created a faded effect that smoothened the details of the images. Not the other hand, the outcome with the black background has a less faded effect and has a bigger contrast with more details.
