The shooting was really fun. At first, we were a bit disappointed with the studio as it is smaller than we expected. As it is the only studio that I can book throughout the week, it is our only choice and we have no way to choose the other ones. As all of us are not professional studio photographers, we asked technicians fo help hanging the white backdrop up. The booking slot attracts at 1 and Danny would b e arriving at 1:30, we got 30 minutes time to get everything prepared. We set up everything and when Danny arrived, everything was prepared and the shooting started right away.
Throughout the photoshoot, I showed the model some reference photos that I would like him to pose and we communicated really well and I am really satisfied with his using and expressions. I also helped tangling the red rope. New ideas came up throughout the photoshoot and it was a really fun experience. I felt really satisfied with the outcome.
We took around 2.5 hours for the shooting and I am pretty satisfied with the outcome. It really interests me when I looked at the photos and found out how different Natalie's and Chapman's photography styles are. I think this is the most interesting part of doing a cold work, mixing different styles to gather and finding a way to pull them together and produce a final outcome of our work.
However, creative directing work is not was I expected. I felt really bad as I felt like I was asking my friends to do everything. I felt like I was not professional enough in directing and there is definitely room to improve. I really hope that I can do better in creative directing as it has been my ultimate goal of being a creative/art director.
