SILENT CRIT FEEDBACK

CRIT FEEDBACK
1. Do you have any suggestions for me to do something with the layout to make it more visually appealing?

2. Do you think I should add more information onto the map? symbols maybe? But symbols of what? I have thought of making symbols of different genre of videos(not only music vids) I watched, but would it be too much? How do I pull everything together in one map?>___<

3. thought of printing out the colour palette and cut them into paper squares(like post-its) and stick them on the walls to make it like a calendar/documentation of my Youtube habits. Would it work? (or scale it down using coloured papers on a white board?)

IM A BIT STUCKK PLEASE HELP ME WITH THE IDEAS AND LEAVE YOUR FEEDBACK BELOW~ THANKS A LOT!!!

Could lay it out as an actual Youtube page
Use youtube font as type, could also use comments from the video as text within the work or focus on the amount of likes/dislikes (use numbers as a system)
Experiment with getting rid of the imagery and just having the colour blocks (show layout depending on when the video was posted etc.
Line idea is nice, works as an abstract concept.
The phone version layout needs to be put into context as it look incomplete.
the hand drawn element of the lines is nice, could try and manipulate online symbols and features of a webpage to use for the lines such as mouse cursor and scroll bar.

maybe try to create the map physically, for example collage the thumbnails of the videos that you have watched to create a more visual image. could you link the colour to something more significant? for example you could do something whilst watching the video or set yourself tasks to do when watching or listening to the music that involves colour or paint.

Definitely consider ways of showing the work, such as pasting it up onto a wall using post its etc. Have an interactive element to it which goes beyond simply visual. this would work well as a video, in which the lines could be animated, although this would only work based on your capabilities in regards to animation.
Think of a different way to format the map, all the ideas look very similar.

could you maybe make the lines clearer so yo can see how long each episode is and if its background music did you play it for a long time, maybe you could have a much longer line because it looks like all the videos are the same time length, maybe it is but try to maybe exaggerates this. think more about layout could the web version look like the layout from a music site. colour pallet ides is very effective and keeps the map simple and its very easy to understand. can you make this into a continuous gif?

ANALYSING FEEDBACK - using Youtube fonts
- use numbers (amount of likes and dislikes)
- use text (comments)
- abstract map
- manipulate online symbols, features of a webpage (mouse cursor, search bar, scroll bar...)
- set myself tasks that involve drawing and painting whilst watching the videos
- pasting them on a wall
- lines could be animated
- diff ways to format the map
- make lines clearer
- much longer line for bgm
- exaggerate the lengths of the lines
- make it into a continuous gif
--> play music along with eh animation

I think that adding music long with the animation would be a very good idea as all of the videos re music videos and it can relate to the genres of the music video as well.

I also agree that the lines should be made clearer in order for people to understand. I should have a clearer direction or ,maybe cut down the colours to make it easier to understand.

Some suggested to make use of the views of the videos as information for the map. It is indeed a very good idea in order to have more information on the map, however, the main focus of my map is about my own Yotubue habits and adding the views or comments of the videos would not be matching with the them of being that personal.
